Molica Chau Hello!
My name is Molica Chau, I am a recent graduate of University of Washington. I received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Global Studies. Throughout my education career, I have changed my majors from early education, art and then finally settled on something completely different. My intention was to eventually tie in education, art and humanitarian work all together. I have worked as a preschool teacher, enrichment teacher, camp counselor, a community learning center tutor, a childcare teacher, to owning my own after school enrichment classes. Youth development has always been one of my biggest interests alongside with art. I have been creating art since I was a kid. I always enjoyed it but didn't quite find my niche until a few years ago. Since then I have been a local artist in the Tacoma/Seattle area. I am a self taught watercolorist and a hand enthusiast . I tend to draw hands, because of my pure love for them. I enjoy writing poetry as a hobby and it's my creative outlet for self expression. I wrote my first poetry book in 2019. I like to encourage myself and the kids that I work with to learn new words everyday so they can speak skillfully and eloquently. Also, just for the enjoyment of learning new words to add to their vocabulary. I would love to work with kids all around the world, through different forms of art. Whether it's painting, culinary, or poetry. I truly believe that serving others with the tools that are given to me will lead to long lasting happiness and self development for the human and soul. Thank you for reading! Molica |
MY OBJECTIVE |
My objective for Creative Monsters is to identify the ways that art can help academically. From holding paintbrushes, spatulas, to molding clay, etc. Art can help the developments of motor skills. Children get an opportunity to improve their Language Development, by learning new vocabulary for colors, shapes, sizes and more. Art education strengthens problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, which can carry over to other parts of their life. It also gives them the opportunity to improve their social development and their understanding of Cultural awareness. Incorporating art into their daily lives can help them express different aspects of their life that words can't. My goal is to expose them to words, ideas and different types of art. Which can help trigger their inner Creative Monster to come out and go wild with their imaginations.
Creative Monsters offers scholarships and a percentage of all tuitions will go towards a donation to The Seattle Children's Hospital, Kiva, and other organizations. |
